We are a non-profit that helps young single mothers in our nation. The Daughters of Colette were inspired by my daughter Colette, a young single mother who had acquired a lease for the first time in her life and wanted her independence, but soon realized she needed furniture. Colette had parents who she felt would help her, and they did. Colette did not have to live in an empty house, but there are so many that do. That is why we are here to make a difference in the lives of young single mothers who no longer have their parents to help them. This is how The Daughters of Colette was born. 

    Two years later, Colette returned to her parents' home after she faced hardship. While she was there, we taught her to be responsible for herself and her child. Unlike most, she could return to her parents' home, but what about the daughters who don't have that luxury?

     Teaching young single mothers how to cope with living on their own to eradicate homelessness in our community was born.
